DIY all natural Hair Gel
This is a recipe that I think may have just changed my life. Thanks to Tracy from: www.thethingswellmake.com
This is one of my favorite websites/blogs. It’s full of wonderful DIY recipes for food and cosmetics.
This hair gel made out of flaxseed (linseed) and water is easy to make and has a great effect on my hair which I’ve struggled with my whole life. I have hair which is a mixture of wavy, curly, thick, thin, fluff and straight. I need length to weigh it down.
This gel won’t make a solid rock on your head, it’s very light and can even be pepped up the next day and the next day after that with a bit of water.
To make the gel just boil a few tablespoons of flax seed in water until a somewhat thicker paste has formed. It should be liquid enough to pour through a sieve to separate out the seeds and also thick enough to become a gel. It will also thicken after cooling. It requires some experimentation but just keep an eye on the mixture and it won’t be hard to figure out. The gel should be kept in the fridge as it contains no conservatives.
I’m very impressed. Thank you Tracy!
